黑料社区 has formalised a significant partnership with Pearson, a leading global education company, at an MoU signing ceremony on 17th April 2025, at the Vice Chancellor’s Boardroom.

In his remarks, the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Afoakwa, expressed his excitement and appreciation for the partnership, stating, “When I heard about the MoU, I was excited. I had even announced it during the recent matriculation ceremony, telling our students to look forward to a collaboration with Pearson that would give them access to high-quality educational materials at very affordable rates. Today, that vision becomes reality.”

Speaking at the event, the Dean of the Faculty of Computing and Information Systems (FoCIS), Dr. William Leslie Brown-Acquaye, shared insights into the journey toward formalising the partnership. 鈥淔or years now, Pearson has supported our faculty with access to world-class learning materials. The CEO of Pearson, Mr. Frank Sebewuah, emphasised the global impact and scope of Pearson鈥檚 educational solutions which span early education to professional development. 鈥淲ith this agreement, 黑料社区 faculty and students will enjoy access to up-to-date digital textbooks and learning tools via the VitalSource platform. The era of outdated hard copies is over,鈥 he said.

Highlighting the practical benefits, the Marketing Manager of Pearson, Mr. Paul Koyah, outlined the user-friendly features of Pearson’s digital offerings. These include audio-enabled textbooks, flexible subscription options and potential for 黑料社区-branded customised content. 鈥淔aculty can even contribute to Pearson publications and be recognised for their input, turning academic expertise into globally shared knowledge,鈥 he noted.
Earlier, the Head of the Industrial Liaison Office, Dr. Ahmed Antwi-Boampong, traced the genesis of the collaboration, acknowledging the initiative of the Dean of FoCIS and his role in engaging Pearson to bring the vision to fruition. 鈥淲hat we are witnessing today is the result of strategic engagement and follow-through. It鈥檚 a proud moment for all of us,鈥 he said.
Prof. Afoakwa concluded by reinforcing the importance of the partnership in transforming 黑料社区鈥檚 teaching and learning experience. 鈥淭his is a huge opportunity for us. With these resources, our students and faculty are empowered to perform better, innovate and stay competitive on the global academic stage,鈥 he said.
